Welcome to the Alverno Library's Wiki for Citing Sources!

This page provides information on upcoming library workshops and links to handouts, books, and websites that will help you understand how to cite sources using the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style.

NOTE: In August 2009 APA released the 6th edition of the publication manual. This wiki focuses on the rules for the 6th edition. Some 5th edition examples can be found on the Wiki sidebar.

Using American Psychological Association (APA) Format (Updated to 6th Edition) - A very good website!

This site from Purdue’s Online Writing Lab (OWL) is a helpful guide to using APA style. The site’s best feature is its inclusion of many examples: formatting a paper, in text citations, and creating a Reference List.

An excellent resource from Bedford/St. Martin's publisher. This site offers links to documentation information for MLA, APA, Chicago and CBE. It is organized by major discipline area. Clicking on the major discipline, the user receives an overview to conducting research in that area. The site also offers worthwhile links to scholarly Internet resources. A glossary of library and Internet terms is also available through this site at the far left side of the page.
